Andrew VanSickle became involved with
the outsider art phenomenon in 1987, when he lived with the
grandfather of the trade in Georgia. After moving to Cincinnati,
Andrew started collecting V & V artwork in 2004, and joined
the board in 2006. He now serves on the Fundraising Committee.
Andrew is the Sales Manager for his Web
design firm Primax and also owns AVS
Art Gallery—where he displays not only his own silkscreens
and pop-art, but also that of other outsider and contemporary
pop-artists. Andrew’s favorite part about V & V is
the artists, because he finds their freedom and happiness refreshing.
His main goal is to develop a base of collectors that visit
V & V galleries and shows on a regular basis, and he’d
eventually like to see the opening of a Visionaries and Voices
Museum.
Besides V & V, Andrew is involved in
a diabetes research funding group and enjoys playing with his
pug named Bill Murray. Andrew is a resident of Covington, KY.
