About Joel
Joel is a classic landscape artist. Waterfalls, mountains, broad skies and wide expanses are laid down on his canvas in a painterly style reminiscent of the impressionists. His enthusiasm for western movies and John Wayne influences the environments that his work captures. Joel is currently exploring new frontiers with his artwork. He is interested in trying sculpture, collage, and woodwork. The warm persona and kindness that Whitaker possesses make him an endearing presence in the studio and a friend to all those who know him.

Exhibitions
Joel's work has been exhibited at the V&V Tri-County studio?s 2 year Anniversary Celebration, in the V&V Northside Gallery Exhibit of ?Wild Life: Animals, Landscapes and Skin?, and is currently exhibited in ?Work Hard Think Smart.? J.W. has had several solo exhibitions, in addition to the Indian Hill Art show in 2008, and, most recently, won an ?Honorable Mention? award at the Rose Center for the Art juried show in Morristown, Tennessee.
