Michael Weber

Michael Weber is an abstract artist who works primarily with acrylic paint. He is progressing toward a graphic delineation that defines an organic or geometric shape holding a kaleidoscopic color pattern. This pattern is the end result of the technique that M.W. defines as ?sandwich art? in which he smashes two paint covered surfaces together like a sandwich to mix color and create the finished product. The works are reminiscent of the fourth dimensional abstracts of Roberto Matta, in that the viewer has the impression that they are looking through certain parts of the painting into another dimension of the world. M.W. is actively engaged in collaboration with V&V artist G.G. The two combine efforts to create acrylic paintings that utilize the best skills of both artists. M.W.?s abstracts are paired with the technical/mechanical renderings of G.G. Current working process for M.W. has been to employ new tools such as a palette knife and new visuals in the form of geometrics. He considers himself an abstract artist, using acrylic paint on panel or masonite as his primary medium.

Michael's work has been exhibited at Essex Studios, Middletown Fine Arts Center, Fitton Center for Creative Arts, Pyramid Hill Art Fair, Taylor Jameson Salon, Algin Retro Furniture, ArtWorks, Visionatti I and II, V&V?s Northside Gallery in all five exhibits over the past year, especially ?Abstract Trances.?
