Joe Kestler

Before suffering a stroke a decade ago, Joe Kestler did not consider himself an artist.  He was a dog-groomer who did not like grooming dogs.  After his stroke, Joe began cutting paper to regain fine motor skills.  Eventually, he began taking the paper he was cutting and making collages from them.  In his “paperings,” Joe takes photographs and transforms them into handmade, layered collages.
