CHLOE GREENBERG
V+V ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2025

Selected through a juried process including V+V staff and over 30 participating V+V artists, Chloe is a Cincinnati-based children’s book illustrator and collage artist known for her vibrant, painterly collages.

Over her six weeks working at V+V, Chloe collaborated with other studio artists and navigated how each has their own unique, stylistic quirks—thereby expanding on how differences are necessary to illustrate a personalized piece of painterly collage.

Chloe says about her time with V+V:

I think it’s refreshing that many of the artists here make art with little to no inhibitions; they make art because they enjoy it. They aren’t making themselves meet certain standards that are required of artists by the “art world.” I’ve been wanting to work more freely and without nagging perfectionism, and as I’ve been working on projects within the residency, it has felt really nice to be aware of the fact that my work does not have to be perfect.

During her time as the Artist in Residence, Chloe created seven original collages directly influenced by her time at V+V, and eight pieces made by and/or with other studio members. This show is the culmination of the knowledge exchange between her and the other artists with an emphasis on collaboration, learning, experimentation, and play.
