ICONS: QUEER WORSHIP OF CELEBRITY

This exhibition, Guest Curated by Josh Porter and featuring the work of Claire Thompson and Scott Walker, took our understanding of a Byzantine Catholic icon and applied that to contemporary pop culture celebrities.

In ICONS: Queer Worship of Celebrity, these artworks and celebrities became iconic in their own right; serving as images of worship and devotion for those in the LGBTQ+community. From Judy Garland to Lindsay Lohan, this exhibition existed as a place for visitors to immerse themselves in the wondrous glory of those who have defined pop culture.

In conjunction with this Exhibition Opening, we also hosted a JOY FUEL workshop, Badge of Pride: Button Making with Becky Mason + Brian Dooley.
