Zines with Max McCormick + Ann McCracken

  • Visionaries + Voices 3841 Spring Grove Avenue Cincinnati, OH, 45223 United States (map)

Learn to make standard sized and mini zines with Max McCormick + Ann McCracken!

A zine is essentially an easy to reproduce, self-published booklet. You can create a zine for anything; zines exist in a wide range of topics and styles. Some are full of art, some are for poetry, some contain essays and informational material, some are like mini newspapers with local event listings, some contain fiction, and some act as shareable personal or travel journals- the beauty of zines is that you can do whatever you want! There are no rules. Zines provide an affordable, do-it-yourself way to get your ideas out there.

I will teach you the basics of how to create the master copy, and from there, all you need is a copy machine to reproduce it and distribute it to friends, or whatever audience you have in mind! Zines are an important part of many subcultures, including queer culture, to exchange information and ideas in an accessible and affordable way.
